desert island

  I have made an island with many things like a Dock, Mine, floating island, Castle, a fountain and some other things. But I will be talking about the Mine and the Dock. The reason why I would want a dock is because If people came by they could land at the Island and help me out. If they were looking to mine for gold or coal because of his job. There would be a mine at the island for them to go down but they have to give me something and get me off the island. 

You can also use Minecraft for writing like they have to build something and then take a photo and then write a story based on the scene they built. You can use it for maths for area and perimeter. Art as building a Minecraft build but you try it competitive for the best build. Also You can use it for fun and games.

This week we have been making a tour around New Zealand I have been doing this with Theo we have been doing it on google earth and a spreadsheet. We have 10 Thousand dollars to spend on the whole trip we have spent $3542.20. We use the formula tool on the spreadsheet to work out the maths.

the great Olympics

  This week we have been watching the Olympics and we have been doing Olympics tasks. We have watched the all blacks 7s, the rowing, the swimming and the Triathalon.  We got 1 gold  2 silver and 1 bronze medal.

We are watching and studying the Olympics because it is one time when all nations come together in peace.  New Zealand does really well for the small number of people we have.

 This week we have been doing scatch I am doing this with Theo this is just a little bit of the code. Every time you click the banana it gives you one score. With scores, you can spend it in the shop to get better bananas and auto bananas. Better bananas give you more scores per click. we have been doing code because it's fun and because it helps problem-solving.  I learned that coding is way harder than it is. have you ever coded before?

Mrs. Swinburn put it on a white piece of paper. then we panted it onto the art paper. then Mrs. Swinburn put it on a black piece of paper then we signed them

Cybersmart fun

 For the first part of Cybersmart this term we learnt about our Digital Footprint.  A Digital footprint is activities we do online that stay online,  for example social media,  (things like Youtube,  Facebook,  snapchat).  If you put silly stuff online,  it could ruin your chances of getting a job in the future, because lots of people who hire for jobs check people online first and may see these things.

 The last 3 weeks we have been doing e-ako it a maths site there is a lot of subjects.  The one we have been doing is geometry and we have been looking at compass directions and clockwise and anticlockwise.   We want to be able to give directions describe where objects are or how to find places.

We had to describe how to move to a slip and a town using compass directions.

I thought it was pretty easy but now I can give instructions on how to go places.

Last Friday we went to Clued-up kids. We went to learn about most of the safety services. Like fire safety and 4-wheeler safety and train safety. There was also health and safety, house safety, animal safety my favorite is the 4-wheeler safety. Because I like how he taught us to be safe on 4-wheelers and like you need to be 16 to ride an adult 4-wheeler and you should always wear your helmet.  This is a picture of us on the 4-wheeler.

 This is my ebook. it's about a dark carriage and the cold owl.  We are doing this in class. Mr Abbot  showed us the site Pobble and we got to choose a picture to base our story  on . I have been enjoying writing this story and cant wait to finish it. I have been learning recrafting skills. We also have the voice of our stories being read to us by a famous person, an animal or a car!. This is on the app called Talking Pets.I am excited about this. We are going to share our books with the rest of the school. Have you ever used Pobble before?

2 weeks ago we looked at the Kawa of Care.  We looked at the rules and decided to turn them into a professional-looking poster.  This is my first time using the Canva software.  I like how you can make anything look professional with the templates.  We printed them out and put them on the wall.

Today for cybersmart we did a game called the barrier game.  You need 2 people to play you have player a and player b. I did this with Jack T.  I was player b and Jack T was player a. I liked to make the clown. You need player a to build a shape and player b has to try to make the same shape.

Today we did an animation about travelling on a bubble. My partner was Aahil from Ruma Kotuku and he just wanted to travel around in the sky.

Today we did a science experiment we didn't know what was going to happen I fort it was going to make snow but it made July it a fun activity I learned that sodium polyacrylate soaks up water and when we put the salt in the sodium polyacrylate it made it into water.
