science

Today we did a science experiment we didn't know what was going to happen I fort it was going to make snow but it made July it a fun activity I learned that sodium polyacrylate soaks up water and when we put the salt in the sodium polyacrylate it made it into water.

Do you like doing science?

  1. Kia ora Jack,
Well done on writing this blogpost about your science lesson! Science is such a great subject to study because you get to learn about so many cool and exciting things.
Starting an experiment is always such a fun experience, especially when you are unsure as to what the outcome will be. Making a hypothesis (an idea or assumption as to what you think may happen) is always a great way to start because you are then able to test your theory and see whether or not what you thought was going to happen did happen.
I read on your blogpost how your hypothesis was that the experiment was going to make snow. What made you think this was going to happen?
When you said your experiment made July, what exactly does this mean?
The image you included is fantastic, and I really like how focused you look while participating in the science lesson. In the photo it looks as though you are mixing something together.
    Is this the sodium polyacrylate?
How much sodium polyacrylate did you need to add for it to soak up the water?
When adding the salt, how long did it take for your experiment to change back to water?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
Keep blogging, you’re doing a fantastic job!
    Nga mihi
